Most whisky distilleries source their barley. Kilchoman grows theirs. Nestled on the west coast of Islay, Kilchoman is one of the only farm distilleries in Scotland where the full whisky-making journey – from field to bottle – happens in one place. The 100% Islay series is the purest expression of this philosophy, and the 14th Edition is its finest chapter yet.

Distilled from the farm’s own 2013 and 2014 publican barley harvests, this release carries the character of Islay’s soil, its coastal air, and its peat in every drop. After a minimum of nine years maturing in a carefully considered combination of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks at a 9:1 ratio, the whisky was bottled on site at a robust 50% ABV – no chill filtration, no caramel colouring, nothing added.

Why the 9:1 cask ratio matters

The dominant bourbon cask influence keeps the spirit fresh, fruity, and full of vanilla sweetness. The one part oloroso sherry adds just enough weight, dark fruit complexity, and an oily, textured richness to the finish that sets this annual release apart from anything produced by larger, more conventional distilleries.
